It’s Super Bowl weekend, and that’s the only explanation we can think of as to why there are so few new streaming shows this week. The only show of note is Amazon Prime Video’s Invincible, a mature superhero animated series from Robert Kirkman, the co-creator of The Walking Dead. This is one of the few comic book shows that doesn’t pull its punches, and we mean that quite literally.
Since there are no other new shows worth mentioning, we’re spotlighting a classic series that has just arrived on Hulu: New York Undercover. This drama ran on Fox just over three decades ago, and it was groundbreaking for its time.

Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Max, Disney+, Paramount+, Peacock, and Apple TV+ all have one thing in common: They’re more expensive than they used to be. We can live with higher rates as long as new shows keep coming, but it’s always a good idea to consider signing up for the ad-supported tiers, which are worth it if you can sit through a few commercials.

His favorite movies are The Thing, All About Eve, The Ice Storm, Rear Window, Heat, The Cranes are Flying, Belle de Jour, Showgirls, and Clue. He thinks Mad Men is genius, still watches Seinfeld twice a week, and likes listening to shoegaze music, podcasts, and Lana Del Rey.
