Google will hold its annual developer conference on May 20-21. As usual, the big event will be held at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California, and kickoff is scheduled for 10AM PT time (5PM UTC). Google CEO Sundar Pichai will hold the opening keynote, followed by developer-related and technical sessions.

Google confirmed it will livestream the main keynotes and sessions from I/O 2025, and we also got a cool Prism Shift puzzle game which revealed the I/O 2025 date.

Google I/O is more than just a developer conference and has historically seen the formal announcement of the latest Android version and new hardware devices. Last year’s I/O featured over 100 announcements, including the Gemini 1.5 models, the Imagen 3 image generation model, Project Astra AI assistant and more.

It seems like this year’s I/O will again focus on AI with teasers pointing to updates on the open-source Gemma AI models, Google AI Studio and NotebookLM. We should also see an update on Android 16, which is currently in its public beta phase, while the stable release is expected in March. Android 16’s official OTA release is rumored to drop on June 3.

Google has also teased upcoming hardware devices at I/O, so seeing a preview for the Pixel 10 series wouldn’t be too surprising.
