Her life revolved around school, home, and church, and this routine continued as she grew into a beautiful and God-fearing woman.

After school, some friends encouraged her to loosen up a bit and experience the world beyond church. That’s when she met the father of her child.

Speaking exclusively to TUKO.co.ke, Magale explained that she met her first love in a studio while pursuing her dream of becoming a musician.

One thing led to another, and they started dating, eventually moving in together months later and having a child.

“We were fine at first, until he started cheating on me with a 19-year-old girl. Despite confronting him multiple times, he kept lying, saying he’d end things with her but never did. Eventually, I couldn’t take the betrayal anymore and walked out with my child,” she said. How did Emmy Magale meet her ex-lover?After the breakup, Magale returned to her mother’s house in Lucky Summer Estate, left her child there, and moved in with a friend who helped her piece her life back together.

Eventually, her music career started to take off, and with the help of another friend, she was able to get a house.

Just when things seemed to be looking up, fate introduced her to another man, Dave (not his real name), who would later betray her in a way she could never have imagined.

“We met at the supermarket. I had gone to buy a kettle, and when I reached the counter, he was in front of me. He tried to pay for his things, but for some reason, his payment wasn’t going through,” she recalled. In a hurry, Magale offered to pay his bill, after which he promised to reimburse her once the payment issue was resolved. They exchanged numbers, and the relationship began.

However, when they went on dates, Dave always found an excuse for Magale to pay for the bills or the taxi. He never invited her to his house, but kept insisting they meet at hers.

“I saw the red flags but ignored them. I paid for everything, and when I insisted on seeing where he lived, he kept dodging. Eventually, I found out he was staying with a friend. Despite all this, I stayed in the relationship,” she explained. She also noticed that Dave wasn’t employed, claiming to be on leave. It later emerged that he had been fired for misconduct.

She happily agreed and even went shopping for her mother-in-law, excited about the prospect of finally having a man of her own.

“I really wanted to feel loved because I’ve never felt the kind of love that makes you feel protected. His saying he wanted to introduce me to his family made me so happy,” she said. They went to Western Kenya, where Dave’s mother welcomed them warmly. But things soon took a turn when they began discussing the financial responsibilities Magale would have to take on, such as building a house for Dave’s mother and starting a business for her.

In her mind, it should have been the responsibility of the son to care for his mother.

However, as time passed, Magale found herself financially drained, contributing to the construction of her mother-in-law’s new house and buying chicks for a poultry business.

How did Magale find out about dowry payment?Months after returning to Nairobi, Magale decided to surprise her mother-in-law with a gift, buying building materials and a cow.

She arrived at the village home, only to find a tense atmosphere. Dave’s mother hurriedly took her shopping and asked her to sit in another room.

“She left me in the room and went to call her son. Then, his new bride came to me and told me she had a child with Dave and that he was about to marry her. I was shattered, as he was supposed to visit my family in a few months. The lady’s family was already in the main house, and they even wanted to use my shopping to prepare food for her family,” she explained. At that moment, Magale realised that Dave had lied to his family about having a job, while all along, she had been the one funding his trips and supporting his projects in the village.

Angry and heartbroken, she took all her shopping, including the cow, and began walking out.

“I didn’t know he was using my money to cater for all his expenses,I had no idea and i never though he would do that to me,” she said.Magale walked a long distance while crying, carrying the cow, until she reached Luanda Market.

“Dave was not remorseful. He actually got angry when I left with the shopping, building materials, and the cow. He demanded that I give him the cow, which I sold, and became violent. People at the market had to intervene to rescue me,” she said.
