The former UFC welterweight champion has posted a short message on social media.

At UFC 322, Leon Edwards was knocked out by Carlos Prates in devastating fashion.

The 34-year-old was knocked out for the first time in his career to extend his winless run to three outings inside the Octagon.

Some suggested that Edwards should seriously consider retiring following his recent run of results that started when he lost the welterweight title at UFC 304.

‘Rocky’ has now posted his first message on social media since his difficult night at Madison Square Garden on November 15.

Leon Edwards is choosing not to dwell on the past following his UFC 322 lossLeon Edwards still had his sights set on recapturing the welterweight gold ahead of his recent return at UFC 322 in New York.

After losing his belt to Belal Muhammad, Edwards was submitted by Sean Brady earlier this year in a one-sided main event in London, England.

Many still believed that ‘Rocky’ would fare much better in a striking matchup with Carlos Prates, only for him to be knocked out by the Brazilian in the second round.

Edwards didn’t directly speak about the loss or what’s next for him when recently posting his first message since the fight on various social media platforms.

Instead, he made it clear that he’s not dwelling in the past by choosing to live in the moment and be grateful.

His defeat at UFC 322 doesn’t mean that ‘Rocky’ can no longer pick up wins in the UFC, but his hopes of recapturing the title look out of reach.

Edwards may still be ranked in the top ten but there are so many names ahead of him who are much closer to receiving a title shot at this moment in time.
