Outrage over goats on JIA runway Hot in Juba reports that the incident sparked public outrage and raised serious safety concerns over operational efficiency at one of South Sudan’s busiest airports.

The viral video attracted increased scrutiny to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), with many accusing the authority of negligence.

A source revealed that nine detained goats were released to their owner after she was cautioned to restrain them.

“Other goats remain in detention as their owners have not come forward,” the source said.Critics demand accountability from JIA officialsSince the video was shared online, critics have demanded reforms and enhanced security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

They also pointed to other lapses, including unauthorized individuals accessing restricted areas, motorcycles being driven inside airport premises, and relatives meeting passengers near the taxiway.

This is after Kenyan travel and lifestyle influencer Atieno Otieno ridiculed the airport’s poor infrastructure.

She equated JIA to Kisii town, adding that she had never seen such chaos at an airport in all her travel experiences.

The angry citizens blamed the authorities for embarrassing the country at its primary international gateway.
