Approval secured for Tencent’s Honor of Kings: World and NetEase’s Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice

On Tuesday, China’s National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) issued 2025’s first batch of domestic and imported game licenses, including 123 domestic games and 13 imported games. Tencent’s Honor of Kings: World, an open-world role-playing game based on the hit title Honor of Kings, was among the most anticipated domestic games approved. Among the imported games, NetEase’s Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice stands out as a post-apocalyptic city-building survival mobile game adapted from the top-selling Steam title Frostpunk.
