Zotac is taking a bold step to combat GPU scalping by selling its latest RTX 50-series graphics cards including the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 directly to gamers through its official gaming Discord server. This initiative is an attempt to ensure that genuine customers have a fair chance to purchase the latest GPUs at MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) without interference from scalpers and bots.
To qualify, users must actively engage in the Zotac Discord community by participating in discussions, events, and challenges. Winners are then selected using a random number generator, ensuring a transparent process. Currently, the program is limited to users in the U.S., and while a limited number of RTX 5080 units are available, the RTX 5090 is not yet in stock.

Zotac has also implemented strict anti-scalping measures to prevent reselling. All GPUs sold through this program have their serial numbers recorded, and any user caught attempting to resell their GPU risks being permanently banned from future Zotac raffles and direct sales events. Nvidia’s RTX 5090 is almost here, but the January 30 release date doesn’t necessarily mean immediate availability on the shelves. So far, it seems like stock levels will be highly limited for a while, which prompts some retailers to get creative. One Japanese retailer is now hosting a lottery, and the prize is a ticket that allows you to spend $2,000 and more on Nvidia’s best graphics card. Leaked RTX 5080 benchmark: it’s slower than the RTX 4090
A set of newly leaked benchmarks has revealed the performance capabilities of Nvidia’s upcoming RTX 5080 GPU. Scheduled to launch alongside the RTX 5090 on January 30, the GPU was spotted on the Geekbench browser under OpenCL and Vulkan benchmark tests — and based on the performance, it might not make it among the best graphics cards.
First spotted by Benchleaks, the benchmark data seems to have been inadvertently made public by a reviewer. According to the listing, the RTX 5080 tested was an MSI-branded unit with the model number MS-7E62. The GPU was paired with AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU—currently regarded as the most powerful processor for gaming—an MSI MPG 850 Edge TI Wi-Fi motherboard, and 32GB of DDR5-6000 memory.
